Oceanside, NY (October 29, 2018) – Police in Oceanside have reported a serious pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a woman on Saturday night, October 27. The accident was stated to have taken place on Atlantic Avenue in the vicinity of Terrell Avenue at around 8:00 p.m.
The 67-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle as she attempted to cross Atlantic Avenue, according to police. Local officials along with the paramedics quickly arrived on the scene to assist the injured party. Unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle involved was reported to have remained at the scene and fully cooperated with police. There have been no charges filed at this time.
No further information has been released in regards to the cause of this accident. Authorities are likely conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
