Staten Island, NY (October 26, 2018) – A car was reported to have crashed into a telephone pole, resulting in the injuries of one passenger on Friday morning, October 26, according to authorities. Following the injurious incident that took place at around 11:00 a.m., two people were said to have fled the scene of the accident on foot.
According to police, the crash happened at the intersection of Richmond Terrace and Tysen Street. The driver responsible for the collision, along with a second passenger proceeded to exit the vehicle and flee the scene immediately after the wreck. The pair who left the crash site also left behind an injured female passenger.
The injured woman was reported to have sustained abdominal injuries as she was promptly transported to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton. The victims’ condition is listed as stable at this time, according to officials.
No arrests have been made as police are likely still looking for the suspect who caused the victims injuries. No further information is currently available.
