Cheektowaga, NY (October 25, 2018) – According to Cheektowaga police, a 41-year-old man suffered a medical emergency while driving and subsequently crashed into a pizzeria on Wednesday evening, October 24. The vehicle was reported to have crashed through the restaurant on Shanley Street and into the dining area at an unspecified time.
Authorities stated that the man had been traveling westbound on Shanley Street at the time of the incident. The driver was reported to have suffered a medical emergency and lost control of his vehicle, slamming into the side of a Partner’s Pizza.
Emergency crews were called to the scene where they found the driver unconscious without a pulse. The injured man was immediately transported to Erie County Medical Center and there has been no word as to his current condition. There were other injuries possibly suffered by people inside the restaurant at the time, however, those have not been verified at this time.
No further details have been provided as police are likely to be looking into all the events that caused this accident.
