Massena, NY (October 24, 2018) – A collision between three vehicles took place early this afternoon, October 24, that resulted in three people being hospitalized, according to authorities. The crash occurred at the intersection of Sherwood Drive and Andrews Street in Massena.
A Kenworth tractor dump truck was reported to have been involved in the crash that also included a red Chevrolet Silverado and a gray Chevrolet Silverado. Massena Fire and the Massena Rescue Squad assisted the Massena Police at the scene of the crash.
Police stated that the accident took place after the driver of the red Silverado, Clayton Plourde, was heading east on Andrews Street crossed into the other lane and sideswiped the gray Silverado. Bryon Russell was operating the gray Silverado in front of the dump truck when Plourde struck him and continued to crash head-on into the dump truck being driven by Michael Currier.
Plourde along with two children who in his vehicle were immediately transported to Massena Memorial Hospital to be treated for undisclosed injuries. No further information has been released at this time as authorities continue the investigation into this incident.
