Bethlehem, NY (October 23, 2018) – According to police, a driver who was traveling in the wrong direction caused a head-on collision on Tuesday afternoon, October 23. The accident occurred at around 1:05 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the divided highway.
Emergency medical professionals were called to the scene to the scene. One motorist was immediately taken away from the scene in order to be evaluated by officials. The intersection of Route 32 and Route 9 West had to be closed down for a period of time.
According to authorities, one of the drivers involved had to be extricated from their vehicle. Both drivers were injured during the collision and had to be transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with injuries that were classified as serious.
According to police, neither alcohol nor speed seem to be factors in the crash.
