Tonawanda, NY (October 19, 2018) – One individual had to be sent to the hospital following a crash that involved two vehicles on Friday afternoon, October 19, according to the city of Tonawanda police. The crash was reported to have taken place at about 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Young Street and Cranbrook Road.
Police reports stated that an 84-year-old woman had been heading northbound along Young Street when she attempted to make a turn onto Cranbrook Road. The woman’s vehicle continued to collide with another car being operated by a 58-year-old man from Buffalo.
Police and emergency crews were immediately called to the scene to assist any victims. The elderly driver was promptly rushed to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital on Maple Road. The victim has been confirmed to be suffering upper body injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle declined treatment at the scene. Charges are currently pending as police are actively pursuing an investigation into the events of this incident.
