Queens, NY (October 18, 2018) – Thursday morning, October 18, a pedestrian accident was confirmed to have occurred in the Ozone Park section of Queens that resulted in serious injuries. The accident was reported to have taken place at around 6:00 a.m. at or near the intersection of Rockaway Boulevard and 103rd Street.
The victim has been verified as a 44-year-old woman who is believed to have been crossing the road or walking along the roadway when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle. Police along with paramedics were quick to arrive on the scene to assist the female pedestrian.
The injured woman was immediately rushed to Jamaica Hospital to be treated for her wounds. She is listed in critical condition at this time. There is currently no clear description of the vehicle that struck the woman as the driver did not remain at the scene to offer assistance or cooperate with authorities.
Police are actively pursuing an investigation into this accident as they search for the suspect responsible for the victims’ injuries.
