East Northport, NY (October 14, 2018) – Police say that a 51-year-old man was critically injured after he crashed his motorcycle in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, October 13. The accident happened around 2:30 in the afternoon, according to Suffolk County Police.
The motorcyclist, whose name has not yet been released, was riding a BMW motorcycle on Clay Pitts Road when he collided with a Toyota SUV that was trying to make a left turn from eastbound lanes onto northbound lanes on Oakledge Drive.
The motorcyclist was quickly airlifted to a hospital nearby. The driver of the SUV, 56-year-old Joseph Pavone, was treated for minor injuries at a hospital.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
