Stratford, NY (October 12, 2018) – According to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, a fatal crash took place on County Highway 104 in Stratford Thursday night, October 11. The accident that occurred at around 9:30 p.m. was reported to have claimed the life of one passenger and resulted in the severe injuries of the driver.
18-year-old Tyler Foster, of Stratford, was confirmed to have been driving a vehicle along County Highway 104 when he crashed. Foster’s vehicle is believed to be the only vehicle involved, and the events that led to the crash are unclear. However, officials have stated that they believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
Police along with emergency crews arrived on the scene where they found Foster and one passenger, 51-year-old John Jaiken severely injured. Unfortunately, Jaiken was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries he suffered in the crash. Foster was reported to have been airlifted to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
The extent of Foster’s injuries is unknown at this time, however, police stated that charges are pending against him at this time. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
