Portage, NY – 81-Year-old Woman Killed in Crash in Livingston County

Portage, NY (October 12, 2018) – A fatal motor vehicle accident was reported to have occurred Thursday morning, October 11, at around 11:08 a.m. The deadly Livingston County accident took place in the town of Portage on State Route 70.
Police and emergency crews arrived on the scene where only one vehicle was reported to have been found. While it is unclear as to whether or not any other parties were involved, the victims’ vehicle was confirmed to have been heading west on State Route 70 before the crash. The victim veered into the oncoming lane and off the road over an embankment and into a tree.
Emergency crews arrived after the crash to render aid when they found the elderly woman unresponsive in her vehicle. The victim was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was eventually identified as 81-year-old Marian Kiley, of Dalton.
Investigators have confirmed that they are pursuing a thorough investigation into this crash.
