Lyons, NY (October 12, 2018) – An accident was reported on Thursday, October 11, involving a pedestrian who was tragically struck and killed by a train in Lyons. Today, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the identity of the victim is that of 25-year-old Nia Reid, of Lyons.
The fatal incident occurred at around 11:53 in the area of Route 31. Police along with emergency medical personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene in order to assist the victim. Unfortunately, Reid had suffered severe traumatic injuries due to the impact of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No more information has been provided in regards to the events that led to Reid being struck by the train. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into all aspects of this devastating accident.
