Booneville, NY (October 9, 2018) – A crash that occurred in Oneida County o Monday, October 8, is being investigated as it resulted in the injuries of one adult and four children. The crash took place on Egypt Road at an unspecified time.
According to police, the accident happened when a 2005 Jeep Cherokee was heading east on Egypt Road when it approached a curve. The vehicle may have been traveling at a high rate of speed, although that information has not been verified at this time. Whether due to speed or mechanical failure, the vehicle ended up airborne and striking a tree.
34-year-old Marissa M. Loomis was involved in the crash along with four youths. Emergency medical crews arrived on the scene to assist any injured parties. Waylon J. Loomis, 4, Adalynn M. Loomis, 9, Haley M. Loomis, 14, and Lillian Corigliano, 14 were all passengers in the vehicle at the time.
The four children and the driver were all immediately taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica with injuries that have been classified as non-life-threatening. The exact cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
