Schoharie, NY (October 7, 2018) – Police said that twenty people lost their lives in a Limousine crash in Schoharie. The accident happened on Saturday, October 6, at the intersection of Routes 30 and 30-A.
Police have not yet been able to release the names of those who lost their lives but are working to find members of their families. The accident happened around 2 p.m.
Police said that two vehicles were involved in the collision, though they are still investigating the details of how it occurred. A witness said that they heard screaming coming from the scene of an accident and a large van struck a tree.
The American Red Cross and the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene. They brought the jaws of life to the scene and first responders had to break windows to rescue individuals.
The scene was cleared by 4:00 a.m. this morning.
