Ridge, NY (October 7, 2018) – A Long Island driving instructor was arrested for drunk driving when he drove off in his vehicle without his driving students and was involved in a rear-end accident. The instructor was identified as 58-year-old Russell Cohen.

At the time, police say that Cohen was instructing four students when they grew suspicious that he was intoxicated. The students asked if they could stop at a local McDonald’s, which is where they got out and called 911. Cohen drove away without the students.

Police say it was then that he rear-ended another vehicle on Route 25 in Ridge. The driver of the other vehicle received injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Now, Cohen is facing charges of aggravated driving, endangering the welfare of a child, and more.
