Scipio, NY (October 5, 2018) – According to the Cayuga County dispatch center, a helicopter had to be called to the scene of a crash that took place on Friday afternoon, October 5. The two-vehicle crash was reported to have taken place at 3540 Route 38 in Scipio, and at least two people were injured. According to a dispatcher, the crash was called in at precisely 2:54 p.m.
The Fleming, Southern Cayuga, Scipio, and Moravia fire departments were called to the crash site along with Four Town Ambulance and the helicopter. It was confirmed that at least two people suffered injuries in the collision, however, the exact nature of those injuries is unknown at this time.
No additional information has been provided in regards to how this accident occurred. Police are actively conducting a thorough investigation into the events that led to this crash, and more information will be available as it becomes known.
