Troy, NY – Man Who Caused Injurious Car Crash and Fled Scene, Arrested

Troy, NY (October 3, 2018) – A man who injured four people in a car accident and then fled the scene on foot turned himself into the police yesterday, October 2. Police attempted to pull over Jeffery M. Cook Jr. when he continued to speed his vehicle westbound on Hoosick Street and led police on a short chase.

The pursuit came to a quick halt, however, when Cook ran through a red light at the intersection of Hoosick Street and River Street and subsequently crashed into two vehicles. Cook exited his vehicle and fled the scene on foot. A large search party ensued but authorities were unable to locate Cook.

Emergency crews were immediately called to the scene to assist any hurt individuals. A total of four people were reported to have suffered injuries in the crash. One person required transportation to a local hospital for treatment, but all injuries were eventually classified as minor. Cook turned himself into the police and is currently facing a long list of charges.
