Syracuse, NY (October 3, 2018) – A two-vehicle accident took place at the intersection of East Genesee Street and Salt Springs Road on Tuesday, October 2, which left at least one person with possibly minor injuries. Police stated that the crash occurred after they attempted to stop a car that matched one they were looking for and the vehicle sped up. The driver managed to evade police but ended up causing the crash a short time later.
41-year-old Deshawnte Waller is currently wanted by police as he has an extensive record of arrests in multiple states and has recently failed to register as a sex offender. Waller fled from the police when they found a vehicle that matched the description of one that he is known to operate. Police attempted to follow the vehicle and soon came upon the crash.
When police arrived at the scene of the accident, Waller was nowhere to be found, and two people who were in the other vehicle involved had sustained at least minor wounds. Police stated that the victims were not too seriously injured, and it is unclear as to whether or not they required any medical attention.
