Rochester, NY: Police Investigating Bicyclist Struck by Car

Rochester, NY (October 3, 2018) – A bicyclist was sadly struck by a vehicle early Monday morning, October 1, on Hudson Avenue in the vicinity of Dayton Street. According to a report filed by the Rochester Police Department, the 26-year-old female victim was hit while riding her bicycle at approximately 4:00 a.m.
Emergency medical professionals were immediately called to the scene of the accident in order to assist the victim. The woman was quickly rushed to a local hospital to receive further care, and she is expected to recover from her injuries at this time.
Ernst Street and Durnan Street were closed to the public by responding officers as they initially believed weapons were involved in the incident. The roads were reopened about one hour later, and investigators concluded that no weapons were involved.
The driver has not been identified and police are continuing their investigation into this accident.
