Protection for workers under New York Labor Law Section 240

New York’s Labor Laws offer numerous protections to workers. One provision, Section 240, also known as “The Scaffold Law,” provides legal protections to workers for injuries and accidents involving falls from elevated platforms. This includes both injuries sustained by a worker who falls from an elevated platform and injuries that occur when an object falls from an elevated platform and subsequently strikes a worker.
