Fatal pedestrian accidents kill two people in Queens

On Saturday, January 18, two separate pedestrian accidents claimed the lives of two people in New York City.

Angela Hurtado, 68, an Elmhurst resident was struck by an SUV on Grand Avenue around 10:50 a.m. She died from her injuries. The driver of the SUV, Abel Tinoco, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

Earlier that morning, an unidentified homeless man was hit and killed by a Ford Expedition along the Cross Island Parkway in Queens. The driver of the Ford Expedition was not charged in the accident.
